About the Workplace

We are looking for dedicated preschool teachers for Augustenborg and Herdinnan preschools. We are seeking both experienced preschool teachers and newly graduated preschool teachers. The area has a total of four preschools that are all relatively close to each other, which benefits collaboration in the area. The preschools are located in a multicultural area with proximity to many green spaces and playgrounds. There are good transportation options, making it easy to visit various cultural events and experiences with the children. All preschools have age-homogeneous departments with local variations in age spans.

The best preschool for children is the vision of the Preschool Administration, and we consciously work to give children a good self-esteem and to equip them with a backpack full of knowledge for life.

We work extensively with language development and communication through stories and drama. A thematic approach is guiding at all four preschools, but with variations based on experience and local conditions. Another focus area we work on is meaningful outdoor activities and language development.

Each operational year, we have five development days and four pedagogical forums where we deepen our understanding of current focus areas.

Augustenborg Preschool has nine departments spread over two buildings, and Herdinnan Preschool consists of three departments. Both preschools work thematically based on a story that creates community and cooperation between the departments. This leads to joyful learning where children's ideas and curiosity drive the development of the theme.

The preschools are partner preschools and take the task of preparing students for the world's most important work very seriously. We see it as an opportunity to stay updated on new research and to view our operations with fresh eyes. All preschool teachers are required to undergo supervisor training to be able to act as professional supervisors.

We have a good collaboration in the preschool area and offer opportunities for collegial learning as well as developing and inspiring exchanges of experience between our preschools.

Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher with us, you work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool. You lead and develop the educational activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for teaching and work with the curriculum as a basis based on each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions. All preschool teachers in Malmö city have scheduled time (5 hours/week) for reflection, documentation, and learning with colleagues.

The preschools are characterized by sustainable development; we think a lot about our materials and teaching children to care for our environment and nature.

There are great opportunities to have varied and exciting outdoor pedagogy in our large, fantastic yards and in the surrounding area.

All preschool teachers have their own work computer to carry out the tasks included in the preschool teacher's assignment. To easily communicate, document, and manage children's attendance, all employees have their own work phone. We promote a good work environment and have therefore scheduled our workplace meetings during the day.

Our lead preschool teacher is involved in driving the development work together with the teams both in reflection and in the departments. If you work with us, you will be part of a team with different strengths that we try to utilize. The close leadership functions and the principal have high trust in the employees, and influence is prioritized.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a preschool teacher license. We would like you to contribute with engagement, creativity, and a drive to develop the operations. You meet each child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with guardians and colleagues. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

We are looking for someone who focuses on play and has a language-developing approach. You see it as natural to take a leading role in interactions with children and to be a role model for your colleagues, both in the team and at the preschool. You have a good understanding of the preschool's values and goals and enjoy collaborating with other teams and preschools.

It is an advantage if you have experience and knowledge of working with children in need of special support. You master Swedish very well, both in speech and writing, and see it as natural to have good cooperation with all guardians.

To be permanently employed as a preschool teacher, a preschool teacher license is required according to the Education Act.
